hello 2mar$, today's report

(1) i made for me a relatively rare (cannot remember when traded currency last, maybe 2008? i was busy w/ currencies 2001 - 2007) currency trade and heavily bought chf money at hkd 8.09 to the chf 1.00 (usd 1.00 : chf 0.9598). have enough ammo to do several more salvos, but obvious each salvo for chf is one salvo less for gold:

(i) chf had spiked to usd 1.00 to chf 0.76 last august 9th before the surprise peg of chf to euro september 5th and concurrent walloping of gold from its 1,900 level, and so there is a respectable 20-30% upside should the chf : euro peg break - all pegs break eventually, especially when sufficiently stressed

(ii) i suspect snb is less resolved to continue intervening against the chf than all the powers-that-be are convicted to keeping wallop gold;

(iii) while perhaps much of usa boyz money may retreat back to usd, i suspect plenty of european boyz cash are making way to switzerland;

(iv) at some critical & psychological juncture either the chf:euro peg shall break (upon euro cratering due to whatever), and / or euro would ramp (and chf with it, due to whatever else), and / or switzerland would do temporary in-bound capital control, and / or snb starts charging negative interest on chf (in which case i intend to exit stage left)

(2) i continued to add to paper gold at hkd 15,118 per tael (usd 1,619 per troy oz):

(i) gold may break to the down then up, or up then down, or up and more up side
(ii) gold would not like break to the down and more down side

tout ou rien

tj

p.s. even so the bets are getting large, am only wagering for cash with cash, and not for bonds/stocks with cash

hello 2mar$, follow-up report:

following these Message 28190027 reported trades and some happenings i corrected the critical error of my ways, back-tracked, and reversed the chf trade

the happenings were:

(i) saw C2's message Message 28190044

(ii) got a phone call from a member of the fellowship inviting me to wine n dine in town, had to decline as i worked from home this day and do not wish to leave the neighborhood

(iii) asked the voice on the phone what the occasion was and was info-ed that the member of the faith had just done a successful and large conversion of fiat cash to solid goodness, and was celebrating w/ another of the faith, to appreciate the loot as bank is already closed and vault area inaccessible until tomorrow

(iv) i asked the voice re swiss resolve as he fairly regularly speak to them sort

the voice over the phone noted that the swiss must be liking the peg whatever the cost to the snb (i.e. the bag held by the people) because no government cares about the people any more

so i reversed the trade of chf

cheers, tj

Hello 2mar$, tonight's report,

1. bought a wallop of newmont mining between 51.975 and 52.017, because the shorted puts done here Message 28186105 may not result in any shares put to me

2. The tally here Message 28190158 indicates I am still short of all items to do w/ gold, and in response to call of duty, must up gold quickly to a point where I can then apply lever n pivot

cheers, tj

hello 2mar$, delayed friday report:

1. continued with gathering of elemental mineral cash to take the gift that was on friday, putting capital to nap. the premium over spot was wider than usual, by about 2x (i.e. 6.7% for coins relative to the more usual 2.5-3.5%)

2. just cleared from e-mail tray

Subject: Fw: Comments - Week of June 4 - thank you mr helicopter ben burnundkaput

continuing w/ strategy implementation per overarching macro and regular programming
ignoring the noise

dear fellowship of heavy faith, given that wastrels saw fit to bid down gold last wonderful night and continued with same this lovely day, i took the opportunity triple-down to what i got monday but expressed my faith through very pretty biscuits / finger sandwiches

the indicated spot gold price at the time of engagement (10:15-10:30am hkt) were

- 9999 coin @ usd 1,671 per troy oz (hkd 13,005 ask / 12,955 bid, or 6.7% over spot

- 9999 bar @ usd 1,633 per troy oz or 4.28% premium over spot (this past monday's buy was at usd 1,662 when spot was at 1,620 or 2.6%)

- 0000 paper @ usd 1,566 per troy oz of imagination

if i cannot do math i would say am noticing that paper and physical is less strongly linked than i have ever experienced; and as if physical is going the way of unobtainium even though there is plenty to go around for all those who seek salvation in central.

the premium of physical over spot is wider than usual as the bank metals desk explicated that they do not follow every wiggle of paper pricing with a squiggle because ... then the guy smiled, and as usual asked when and if i wish to sell back my pt bought from him so very long ago (2004 and earlier), please raise hand ... and smiled again.

Attached is a link to the video of Simon Mikhailovitch's presentation at Jim Grants conference 4/11/12 at the Plaza Hotel in NY.

J earlier sent out the slides.

In case you missed them, they are attached, and useful to follow along with the video.

This IMHO is not to be missed.
