Why is it that God needs defenders if it is so obvious he's so in control? Every 5secs a child dies of starvation & this God does nothing ?

The problem of evil in the world is something people have been thinking about it for thousands of years - one of the books of the Bible is based on it.

But for atheists there shouldn't be a problem of evil .... as if there's no God, there's no good or evil and no basis for you to complain about.

Also I think if someone is going to talk about starving children and doesn't regularly give to relieve their starvation, they are damned by your own words. If those children are more to you than a rhetorical weapon, do something about them. If you don't, don't be bitching at God over them.

Sorry, but aren't you one who is doing nothing? Except exploiting those children for use as your rhetorical weapon.

The truth is Christians do have organized charities to relieve such things. Atheists don't. They just use the suffering to attack the faith of others.

"But isn't it your obligation to make sure you love those that appear to revile & hate you , even if it were so ?"

Well Yes. I love Solon, (my neighbor) by telling him the truth about Jesus and urging him to "stop spitting in God's face" because every breath he takes is a gracious gift from God. What else would you like me to do?
