Clinton's tax increase was straight party line, with Gore breaking a tie in the Senate. All else follows from that.

Clinton passed his budget with not one Republcian vote and the Republicans said it would be a disaster.

FDR also didn't have to face a filibuster on every single bill. And he had big Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress anyway.

Really, it's an inane comparison to draw. I'm not blaming you for drawing it, I'm just pointing that out.
