<<FDR had large majorities in both houses of Congress. Obama could make that same speech a hundred times, and it wouldn't make one whit of difference.

He had a majority in the house and senate, a monster mandate and refused to use the tools bush used like executive action, reconciliation and recess appointments.

Bush used reconcilation to pass two of his tax cuts by a squeeker, and he used executive action and recess appointments all the time. Plus it is hard to know what can be achievd if one uses the bully pulpit. Look how he changed African Americn minds about gay marriage. 38% against to 56% for in just two months when he lead.

Clinton told him to use executive action to raise the debt ceiling. But he wouldn't do it and the executive action he just used for immigration could have been done a year ago, three years ago. He didn't need to deport more illegals by far than bush either or raid medical pot shops.

And he could have prosecuted Wall street and helped main street. He did neither and those two things really turned off the kids and independent voters in 2010. Everyone expected somethiing to be done about those two issues. So many dems lost their seats as Obama simply focused on keeping his.

I know we have to reelect him, but downplaying his mistakes just leads us down the road to psychobable and it is hard enought to determine reality without muddying the water with excuses.

And last, to tell the liberals to quit whining after they were the ones who got him elected. Really?
