Sounds like something really nice will come out of this. First, it sounds like at least two of the boys may have learned something, and kudos to the one dad for stepping up. Klein sounds like she will get a vacation- which she probably needs. And hopefully everyone who reads about this will be a little less inclined to bully.

Believe it or not, on SI there are some very intense bullies. If their posts were collected and put out on the net for their employers, or families, to see- I feel certain their family members would be embarrassed by them, and no doubt they would be reviled. Bullying really only flourishes when people can do it without visibility, and without accountability- it's a dark slime, that doesn't withstand the light of day very well- as this episode shows. And while bullies usually don't want to give up their "fun"- in the end it's a behavior that is probably as corrosive for the bullies as it is for the people who are bullied. Obviously it's a bonding experience for people with personal issues- and no doubt it's a way to feel "better" temporarily, but deep down, bullies have to feel pretty bad about themselves. It's a very ugly way to go through the world- ganging up and picking on other people. I wonder how many bullies end up committing suicide, or drinking excessively to try to forget their ugly lives?

At a press conference Thursday, school officials said they are still investigating the incident, but promised strong disciplinary action.

No wonder those boys apologized.
