<C'mon...these "everyone is out to get us" delusions is symptomatic of beaten down stocks...snap out of it...realize that we are in for a very rough ride and this is the bounce before earnings warning. You know that they are going to have to face up to decreasing margins:> I certianly wasn't implying that someone or anything is "out to get us" Anyone who is in this stock should understand that they are in for a very rough ride - much more rough that I think any of us imagine - as soon as this thing does revive - and it hits $40 or so - Everyone in at $40 is going to say "get me off this circus ride" and sell to break even. Then we'll have a whole new round of pissing and moaning. This may happen at several different key entry points - I'm not happy to say. If you want to make money by shorting... go for it... if you want to make money by optioning ... you're a savy investor...but anyway you slice it - COMS is great long! There is no way anyone can convice me that 3COM is going to close up shop and go to the house! I think there will be some very pleasant suprises with respect to new products and alliances by January. Although I think there are better things to say on this thread, I was simply implying that James Cramer is a good entertianer, albeit a good investor (as far as we know). He doesn't say much, partly becuase he's not allowed. On Monday, he wrote some unbiased and rather upbeat views on 3com in his column...then in the Yahoo chat he says "Coms has blown it, im short it". He didn't get that commital with any other stock questions (other than recommending no brainer blue chips like DIS, PFE, MSFT etc) I enjoy reading negative comments on this thread. Mostly becuase it invites a bevy of really great "supported" counter information from people who don't necessarily trade from the gut (like Cramer - a style that Im not to sure can be taught) So since we can't really learn his style (and is pretty much reluctant to say more than "I've got a gut feeling") and he's really not allowed to say anything commital (and often replies "why should I tell you a stock pick? so you can go out and buy it?) IMO, he's a good entertainer that has media appeal. He'll probally break into movies not soon!! Like a $15 cigar, he's just a fad, but I really, really love 'em!
