Good thing too.

"if you take a trillion dollars for instance, out of the first year of the federal budget, that would shrink GDP over 5%.
It would have a short run negative impact taking that much out that quickly, but 1 - Its unlikely to be close to that large. 2 - The long term impact would be positive. 3 - A trillion dollar per year reduction in spending in the space of one year simply isn't going to happen. It wouldn't happen if every single Democrat up for election, lost the race as was replaced by Republicans. Not even if the Libertarian part won every seat up for grabs (since that would only give them one third of the Senate)
