My understanding is that current DRAM tester may not be adequate to test Rambus architecture and many current DRAM testers in the field must be upgrade or purchase new testers to support this requirement. Since Intel has convinced all DRAM manufacturers to license Rambus architecture on future DRAM, it is probably very safe to state that many DRAM manufacturers will be upgrading or purchasing the testers to support the wafer sort and final test operation. Maybe, some test engineer could refute or confirm this. I believe TER had a small news release on this last month. Does any one know what is the preferred package for Rambus DRAM?
