I upgraded the hard drive to 750GB last year.
No such luck with the latest Retina MBP. Pay way too much for what you need up front and forget about upgrading, ever, entirely.

So lame, in my never humble opinion! Like kindergarten training wheels treatment for pros. Pathetic.

The OS is superior speed wise it seems.. (I come from the Unix/Xenix) world before Linux was fashionable :O) That has to help.. I love the battery life.. She rarely watches tv but rarely is the Mac off... she grabs her favourite shows here and there and watches on the Mac.. The touchpad is just much better period.. just a very nice machine they built all round.. I fully expect it could see her through university.. It gets put through its paces in graphic design from her program etc.. The older of our two Dells is a nice machine but slow now.. It was a last of lot business class machine so a step up from many of the consumer retail.. Still the MacBook is much nicer.. I cannot justify the expense for myself.. Likely she'll get a new one before ending university so that her high school in two years brother can inherit the old one..
