Wayners, I agree that ultimately the low interest rates in time will lead to inflation. In fact, at the grocery stores we are seeing inflation in many different ways: higher prices for the same box of goods, smaller quantities within the box for the same price and then higher prices for smaller quantities within the smaller box and increased prices.

Things which counteract the increase cost of inflation: outsourcing of jobs outside the US to countries with cheaper labor, increased automation of robots, computers and insourcing of employees of other companies who are willing to work for less (wages, fringe benefits and longer hours). But, isn't that the capitalistic way of maximizing the "profits for the stock holder." How many of us have 401-k's, IRA's etc and invest in those companies which give us the higher return on our investment. Are we part of the problem, as greedy investors? What is our moral responsibility to help the "truly needy" vs maximizing our profits? Just something to think about!!
