There are many lawyers on this thread, and they probably know better, but to my knowledge such wavers are not enforceable. I don't know why people do this. Maybe in order to mislead patients into thinking that they signed away their right to sue. I don't think they can do that.

Re: Government and the Choices they offer....I have to have a CT scan in a week or so....and when the gal called yesterday to make sure all their info was correct, she said the "Government had some new questions to ask.....pause....(sigh on my part) and then she said "BUT you can decline to answer if you want...."
I asked what were the questions like..

She gave me a couple.....i.e.
Race and the choices.....I told her (after I stopped laughing, and then made her laugh) that I was a Heinz....(laughter continued).....also told her I was a genealogist, and anyone who knew much of anything in that study, knows that it is VERY difficult to say that after a generation or two...
Next question.... was ethnicity.... I responded.....Well, how about Mutt.....I mean how do you combine German, German, English, English, English, American since the 1600's on several generations back, and Luxembourg in 4 of the major 16 lines.... Got her to see what I meant.....and we both decided that a good "Decline" was the best thing to do....

Inbetween her laughter, she said she agreed with me, but couldn't say that outloud....

Government will be the death of us if we're not careful.

You want what all of us want...an Insurance that is provided by a Private Company, that has competitive rates, good service, and a clear understanding of what they will pay for and what they won't. We don't need the Government putting it's nose under the tent, and telling us what to think, and how much to pay ....

This is exactly why we don't want a single payer system. Everyone has priorities they want in their coverage.
