i'll bet the girls are having a blast having all the 'creature comforts' yet out in the 'difficult camp'
They're having a great time. What's nice about a trailer is rain is not a bother. You're snug and warm inside. Not at all like tent camping. We're in the lap of luxury tonight in my SIL "cabin," something of a misnomer for a 3-level, 3-bath house on a mountainside with stainless appliances, a Viking range and granite counter tops.

Headed out tomorrow for Lander, then two nights in the Tetons.

I do plan to look into boondocking options. In fact, I bought a book on Amazon about it.

A large part of the book focuses on power savings.

I've heard that two 6 volt batteries wired up together last much longer than a single or even double 12 volt.

LED's are great power savers.

What uses the power on our trailer are the furnace (electric motor) and pump. Can do a workaround on the furnace with a catalytic propane heater (just have to keep windows open for venting). Not sure what the work-around is on the pump.

I got a little portable solar panel for charging my cell phone on the mountain. We have cell service at 9000 feet, and there is also a solar panel there for charging the radio. But when I plug my cell phone in to the socket it creates static on the radio for some reason.

The day I looked I checked Best Buy and Walmart, neither of which had any solar panels at all. I was in luck. A guy had a special display at Costco with just what I wanted.
