Byron,

It wasn't so much a question of whether it was scalable as it was a question of how it compares to others. It takes 4 FTEL boards to do what 1 NMS board does for example. Most industrial chassis have maybe 16 slots. That gives FTEL less room to scale in one chassis and if they can go to multiple chassis, so can the competition. This isn't to say that FTEL is hosed. Just that they're not quite in the same league on their telephony side. And that is what is required for large installations. But FTEL is a smaller gateway that I feel is better suited to smaller installations, and there are a lot of those and FTEL Tempests will be competitive in that space.

And why the "Atin, the sleuth" - I don't make "editorial" comments about posters on this thread and consider it rude that I have these kinds of comments thrown at me for a post I didn't even make on this thread. Someone asked for my opinion about the news release from FTEL, on my VoIP thread, and I answered with what I know and believe. If you have a problem with that, skip over what I post. I was not asked about having that copied to this thread and I would have said no if I had been asked because I don't like dealing with FTEL folks within this thread for exactly the kinds of personal things that get said.
