They need to start a "lying is an endearing quality" campaign.

Maybe paraphrase Mark Twain...
"I have such a high regard for the truth I never speak it."

Don't get me wrong since as I agree with your comment here completely. BUT that's not what I posted. I said David Gergen made the comments last night that Romney was gone from Bain after 99. I DO NOT believe Romney - I am inclined to believe Gergen.

This part of the story now fits with "Romney will say anything" meme.

And that has surely become indisputable by this point.

His people could always play that as a feature not a liability--he is pragmatic, and will do whatever it takes to get the job done. And the job, in this case, will be "To get America moving again." Mitt is a winner who succeeds, he will succeed in doing just that! If you want to get America moving again, vote for Mitt!

The RW base won't like it, but his people could always just tell Fox and a few radio commentators not to repeat that line, and many of them won't even hear it!<g>

Maybe this is the story you are referring to? Here is the first paragraph:

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney's repeated claim that he played no part in executive decision-making related to Bain Capital after 1999 is false, according to Romney's own testimony in June 2002, in which he admitted to sitting on the board of the LifeLike Co., a dollmaker that was a Bain investment during the period.

The problem with this story is that it assumes that directors of companies do something more than rubber stamp what the executives want them to do. ROFL...
