Perhaps you missed the part where a lot of the big banks paid back money to the government.
If it doesn't fit the meme, then heave ho and over it goes. Welcome to the "debate" today.

<<<<<The bailout didn't really cost taxpayers anything, in the end>>>>

I didn't say bailout I said "mismanagement"! So that banks paid back the money justifies what they originally did? Every American was drastically harmed by what the banks did. The unemployment rate we have today, the loss of value we have in our homes, the sluggish economy, much - although certainly not all - of our debt was a consequence of banks gambling and using house money. The house money was your money sitting in banks! As the news from JP MOrgan that by the way is 40% bigger than at the time of the bailout is that they lost 5.8 billion gambling in risky trades last quarter! So you see they are gambling with your money again. If they weren't pissing that money away gambling, what do you suppose they could have financed here in America in the way of new homes or infrastructure?

Teddy Roosevelt on the other hand when dealing with "Trust", stepped in understanding they were not in the publics interest and broke them up. My gosh, instead these conglomerates just got gigantic under Obama.
