he would have at least have had a shot at winning. No way. McCain was behind in the polls before the Republican convention. He picked Palin and briefly went into the lead around convention time. Then Lehman collapsed and the world went into deep crisis in October. The Lehman collapse ensured that whoever had been nominated by the Democrats, regardless of how inexperienced, would win in 2008.

You can't possibly believe that.. SP gave McCain a shot until the msm jumped on her instead of actually vetting the current occupant of the WH. Had O been vetted with 50% of the effort tossed at SP McCain would be the current POTUS.

if McCain hadn't chosen Palin I believe he would have at least have had a shot at winning. On this I have to disagree strongly. McCain was not going to win regardless of who he chose. Palin did more to energize the McCain campaign. net / net IMHO Palin didn't help or harm McCain. She energized the supporters. The MSM gave her press and spent months criticizing her. Be ready for the same kind of slander from the MSM against whoever Romney picks.
