Are you saying this chiropractor did nothing but see personal injury patients involved in lawsuits?

I guess I'm not surprised. I was on a jury once where some young Vietnamese guy (!20 or so) claimed an injury from a minor accident and supposedly had to be treated by an accupuncturist. He wasn't very clear about explaining why or what his treatment did, nor was the Viet kid clear either about his injury. They got zip out of this case.

I wonder how many chiros, accupuncturists, or for that matter, more conventional doctors (excuse me for thinking 'puborectalis' docs, whatever they are) do nothing but work with PI lawyers and their clients.

The bar isn't that high, unless you mean by "win" the attorney makes some money.

Could be he makes some money. Or he scores points in some way like establishing a political position, getting his name in the papers, making some important contacts, etc. Maybe the attorney is attracted to the the client or maybe the client is a friend. I had in mind a "win" being anything that is advantageous to the attorney. You don't have to win the case to get something out of taking it.

I engaged the topic in response to the claim that an attorney would not take a case that has no merit. I don't believe that to be valid. An attorney may take a case that he thought he could win despite the lack of merit, for example, a tear-jerker scenario. Or he may take a case he did not think he could win but one that would advantage him in some other way.
