What's it like today?
Don't know. We didn't stop there. We were about 9 miles up the road to Steamboat from Silverthorne. Silverthorne is a totally manufactured city - no history. Just stores, condos and such that have gone up in the last 25 years.

We drove through there a few years ago. Breckenridge is filled with condos - very nice ones - with cool shops. A total ski town now. Aspen, before it got expensive, was a typical Colorado mountain town, as Neeka can tell you. And Nederland, up the mountain from Boulder - was really off the grid. Probably upscale today, I bet. That is the sad part - so much kitschy development.,
