While the Mormon's are "weird", they are no weirder than any other religion. Let's face it, when you get into invisible buddy territory, who is to say what's weird? Just because a religion is older, it's not really less weird. I have always found eating the body of a God particularly weird- and that's the Catholics. They are actually eating the body of Christ and drinking his blood. If that isn't weird I don't know what is. I think that's a lot weirder than magic underwear and freaky gold tablets. And there's plenty of very odd stuff in Hinduism (although the stories are fascinating). Cults are just names for new religions, that are not established yet. The Romans thought Christianity was a cult :-) And at the time, it was.
