What year is this supposed to take place? It sounds like a great investment opportunity.

Oh, I'd say to stay tuned if you're worried about acceptance,
we certainly aren't hearing any complaints from the field.

Listen macpherson.com - you know or should well know that in order to implement xDSL the cooperation of the telcos is involved. I suppose you expect all the RBOCs to cough up a ton of money for something that rarely works except in areas that have exceptional lines already? How about the revenue losses they'd incur by losing all those T-1 customers who've been happily contributing between $300 - $1200 per month for a 1.544 Mbps connection?

It even goes farther than that as in the expenses for time & manpower involved in getting the exisiting lines such that they will pass xDSL as well as the cost of the necessary hardware upgrades to the CO switches.

10% by 2001 - learn it and live it.

Might be better off thinking about that as "Still 90% POTS in 2001".

You want substantiation? How about from the actual ADSL forum?

There has been a ton of research into this by all parties concerned.
If you're expecting corporate America to wait a few decades that's fine.

Hi Rod, This point that I'm about to make is a road block that RACE need to get by. You wrote.

"I think we've herd (sp?) this before. My personal feeling is that if there were anything compelling about this technology then business would have done been compelled already. What happens to RACE when RBOCs start using these DSL-based technologies? All I can say is Be Ware (sp?).

A first glance this is a correct assumption. Paraphase of this first glance might be, "Why invest in a dinosaur technology like this. There is realy nothing new here just a play on existing technology that will soon be obsolete".

Well the dinosaurs had a very long existance and didn't become extinct over-night and neither will the existing POTS infrastructor. New technology will need to be implimented in a way that it works with the existing systems.

I believe there are many situation in which Be There can get corporate america the most bang for it's buck. Untill a more widely accessable technology is available.
