I don't think that there is a character on the political scene who is the equivalent of William Jennings Bryan, thank God :)

There's always Ross Perot lurking around, although from what I've read about how EDS worked, he'd probably be on Bill's side if he wasn't a competitor. Of course, nobody talks about Silver Tongued Ross:).

Check out last months issue of The Atlantic magazine, where they have quite the retrospective on Mr. Gephardt. He's your classic protectionist, deficit-spending, socially-conservative, economically liberal, Big Labor Democrat.

Plus, Gephardt's young. If he loses or decides not to run this time, there's always 2004.

If Chairman Bill feels frustrated with DOJ now, just imagine how he'll feel with Gephardt in the Oval Office.
