Dave, you can move to Somalia. Government is really off your back there. No one is stopping you.

Dave, listen very carefully...........money is not "forcibly taken from you against your will". You are choosing to live in a society........in a culture. In a social construct, a contract is established. Like with any contract, there are benefits and negatives to such an arrangement. One of the negatives is you must pay a fee to participate in the contract.

There is so much wrong with this comment I don't know where to start. Whatever "contract" government may have had with us was breached long ago. We don't mind paying reasonable taxes, but that comes with a responsibility that government spend the money wisely and not borrow excessively. I feel not the slightest obligation to pay taxes at this point -- other than at the gunpoint of IRS -- because government has so broken its responsibility with taxpayers.

Yes, you do mind paying reasonable taxes. There is nothing reasonable about the conservative stance these days. You are paying the least amount of taxes in 60 years and you still are not happy. You complain all the time. Again, I say............you do mind paying reasonable taxes.

Let's call a spade a spade. There is a battle, exacerbated by Obama's class warfare, not between the haves and have-nots. Not all all.

The battle is between the workers and the nonworkers. It is between those of us who work hard to make whatever we can make, and those -- the 50% -- who lives off the backs of OUR hard work. It is between those who create wealth and those who consume it.

BS. That's more R mythology that you soak up because you are cheap bastard. You don't want to pay any taxes that might find their way to poor people.......esp poor black people. Its doesn't matter whether these people work hard or live off welfare. You just don't want to share.

This attitude is endemic to the South and has existed for so long you don't know why you think this way. Its why income mobility is so poor in the South; its why the South sits in pervasive poverty despite all the new industry; its why mortality rates are high in the South

And yeah, the battle is between the rich and the rest of us. Corp America......the shits that live in Palm Beach or Beverly Hills...............most of them don't care about you Dave. In fact, they think you are stupid for your undying loyalty to them.

Obamacare represents a fundamental change in our legislative process that no one has talked about. For the first time in American history, a program was designed from the ground up to not only take wealth from the worker and give it to the non-worker, but also, importantly, to embed itself like a parasite in such a way that it can never be killed. SS and Medicare turned out that way but that was never the legislative intent. Obamacare is different, and for me it represents a tipping point.

BS. Its to insure that everyone gets good healthcare instead of lining up in stadiums once every 5 years to get some medical attention. Its a program to elevate the US from 3rd world status to first world when it comes to healthcare. Its long overdue.

My leanings are more libertarian than anything else; I am extremely moderate on social issues and have become more so in recent years. But none of that matters because libertarianism has no standing in this country, which forces me to choose sides with the two parties. And no matter what I feel socially, the fiscal irresponsibility of liberalism is an order of magnitude more important than any other consideration. You make no pretense: unconstrained, you will spend this country into absolute poverty.

I don't care whether you call it vodooism, communism, capitalism or libertarianism...........its not working. I repeatedly show you the stats........you ignore them. The South which is the hotbed for your particular ~ism sucks when it comes to the rest of the states..

Until the South makes a real commitment to improve the lot of its poor, it will continue to lag behind the rest of the nation and exhibit the kind of craziness that scares the rest of us. And you all will continue to act as if your last dollar is getting sucked up by taxes. Southern mentality that the pie is small and shrinking is due to years and years of shortchanging yourselves and you don't even realize it.

Ted, if something is not done to force you work and pay your own bills, you will sit on your ass until us, the workers, have nothing left. That is not okay with me. You are not entitled. You don't have it coming. You must provide for yourself.

The southern states have used that strategy for 100s of years. How is working for you all? Again, I point to the stats............according to them, your philosophy ain't doing shit.
