White House Suggests President Obama Will Not Push for More Gun Control

The White House signaled today that President Obama, who has seldom shown much appetite to fight with the powerful National Rifle Association, did not intend to make a push for stricter gun controls in the wake of the shootings in Aurora, Colo.

Chart believes there is a constitutional right to purchase an assault rifle with a 100 round magazine. He thinks there are no limits on the second amendment - even the right to purchase a machine gun.

Purchasing a machine gun is perfectly legal if the purchaser meets certain requirements. Also, there is a constitutional right to purchase a so-called "assault rifle" (a term rooted in firearm cosmetics) when meeting certain requirements. If you think the Second Amendment is equivocal on these points, please demonstrate by way of evidence, Mr. Lawyer.

You have never acknowledged any messages about Fast and Furious and Eric Holder and Obama sealing the communications about fast and furious. This one must really scare you. Could it be because there is no party line for this one other than acting dumb?

Do you think that Eric Holder should go to jail for his part in fast and furious? Do you believe that, as attorney general, that he is responsible for what happens in his department? Do you think he should at least lose his job for coming up with such a stupid plan?

The Colorado theater was a gun free zone. Guns were banned there so there shouldn't have been a problem with gun violence. In fact, the only problem James Holmes had was that his rifle jammed.

A Public Service Message for Maniacs

Sure enough, the Century 16 in Aurora was a gun-free zone.

The Obama campaign’s attack on Mitt Romney’s business record hasn’t changed the belief that venture capital firms like the one Romney worked for are better job creators than government programs like the ones championed by the president.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters believe venture capital companies are better at creating jobs than government programs are. Just 27% think government programs are a better way to create jobs. Seventeen percent (17%) aren’t sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
