My maternal grandmother and mother spent their time in these endeavors and also wore what they called "bandanas" upon their heads. A testament to their purity I guess? I was fortunate in that they taught me all of the rudiments of lady/mother/wife-hood and I get by. But I don't wear bandanas like they did.
