Those mangles were a real time saver, especially if you had several daughters....Parents could always insist using them was part of our "jobs"...... It was a better job than cleaning the bathrooms....

Why do they call it a 'hand' iron or for that matter, a mangle. Is it because we burn or crush our fingers in the silly things. One of the world's great discoveries... Perma Press ;)
