I send my shirts out to be laundered. At one point I tried washing and ironing them myself, but it wasn't worth the time cost.

I never heard those terms before now. We always called it the Ironrite. My mother had one with a wooden cabinet, which she kept in the foyer of our house.

After I got married she found a used one like the one in the picture and gave it to my wife. My wife couldn't adapt to it, so we got rid of it.
