What about businesses, of which there are plenty, who are net takers? Shouldn't their role in democracy be limited too? In general, I agree with you. There is something to the argument that people should have to earn the right to vote, by being responsible, informed, not too stupid... Personally, I think the single biggest change we can make to help democracy is to ban all forms of political advertising. Odd that the Constitution remains silent on the subject of campaign ads on television... -d
