Anyone here know anything about Bompreo? Bompreo is one of Brazil's largest supermarket chains. According to a 11/19 report by Lehman Bros the stock (identified as BNORY, a "GDS") was trading at $29 1/2, or just 7.1 x 1997 earnings and 4.9x 1998 estimates. Lehmans projects 5 year EPS at 35%.

I own some Cifra (CFRAY) and this sounds like the Brazilain equivalent of that (Mexican) company but :

I can't find it listed anywhere.
Anyone know how to find (and maybe buy) Bompreo?

Mike

Hi Ken, actually I was just going to bed. Bad habit of staying up late and watching other markets these days.

I wrote Dec. 95 puts on Friday for 2 1/2. Not the best deal, but I wanted to get in before the weekend.

I had a thought the other day and have spent a lot of time this weekend trying to find an archived copy of the following story.

"Brazil's BNDES to sell 300 Million Reals in options on TBR- 6 Months
strike price of 132 reals...these are puts their selling...see Boomberg news for full details...."

I remember the story coming across the newswires but didn't save it. This reference was from Scott, post 218 on this thread. If I understand correctly these would equate to 120 puts. Not sure if they expire February or March.

These folks put some big bucks on the line. If anyone has a copy of the press release...please post.

Thanks.
