BB,
I've found that strategies which mitigate downside risk cost $$ and limit your gains should the stock take off. Hedging costs more than it is worth IMO, with the market in a general upward trend. I would rather "learn" how the stock moves and make money on the long side since I believe what we are now experiencing is an ephemeral bilp on the LT radar screen. IMHO, being short(buying puts, selling short) on AMAT is a dangerous proposition unless you are really smart. BTW, I'm not.
