Looking at it very narrowly, I can see how you came to that conclusion. However, when you look at the broad sweep of things, the fact is that the 99% have watched a third of their house value asset disappear and national debt, which the people ultimately have to pay back has more than double in the last 4 years. So they get a better rate on their mortgage today? Thx, man. But it's cost the 99% far more wealth than any slight benefit to a lower rate. At the end of the day, LIBOR rigging is illegal because tens of trillions of contracts are based on official LIBOR figures. Government officials in the US turned a blind eye to it (Geithner), which makes them accomplices. They should be put in jail. Americans keep thinking that the best way to get past the crisis is to just sweep the mess under the rug and ignore all the laws that were broken. I'm telling you that I'm a student of history and what has made this country great is that we have kept corruption to a minimum to allow a thriving free market to lift most boats. However, we are now so corrupt top to bottom, that this is no longer true. We simply resemble any banana republic. Take your pick. That is already destroying wealth and will continue to do so, until we decide to execute the laws of this country and to elect those who will do that relentlessly, then we'll continue to see the crisis persist.
