Actually, I have quite a few gay friends. Some of them are even republicans.

My best friend, the one who was the best man at my wedding, he was terrified to tell me that he was gay. He was positive that our friendship would be over.....my response....ho hum <yawn> I had figured it out a couple of years before. He was also terrified that his catholic parents would reject him.....not even close. They embraced him. They embraced his boyfriend as well (they have been together for 20 years). I don't deny that he was terrified and stressed out about revealing that he was gay, I saw it first hand. But it was his own internal demons that were tormenting him, not his friends and family.
