If you can design around there is no reason to settle anything. And Samsung has already designed around in both hardware and software. This verdict is not a panacea for Apple. The smartphone wars continue. Nothing changes.

Frankly, it looks to me like an opportunity for Samsung and Apple to reach an arrangement that would effectively and finally shut all the other competitors out of the market...
Absolutely agree. Samsung goes W8, Apple happy, collecting cross licensing $$$$$$$$$$.
