Well, it could mean what Brumar says: Message 28364345 Or it could mean that the responding scientists, like me, live in an environment where you're better off not talking about your political beliefs if they happen to vary from the people in power or the majority. If you look at the whole survey, instead of doing what Koan does and cherry-picking one statistic and extrapolating from that, scientists have quite a few positions and beliefs that are quite different from the general public. Doesn't make either one of them "right" or "wrong".
