Thomas,
I read the Bernstein report and that report does'nt sit right at all. If you are familiar w/ the situation the conclusions in that report don't make sense. I took a look at NN, the growth that they are seeing in their ATM line is torrid. 14% sequentially! The mainstreet is a great product but you never see that kind of revenues and order growth from mrkt share increases alone. On top of that ASND is seeing CSCC do very well since the merger. Cisco is not reporting any problems w/ ATM sales,( quite the opposite). So where is the mrkt share coming from? I don't know where Bernstein is getting their #'s from but if I look at the individual players in ATM and they all show good sales growth then how can it be assumed that the sector is not growing? I believe that they are trying to support a negitive outlook that they have put forward on NN. I have found nothing to support that premise. If anyone has info on the state of ATM I would love to see it.

>>Bernstein said NN is growing 20% via market-share gains, by winning every significant
contract. The analyst says that ASND has broken that streak by winning the coveted NTT deal.<<

Tom, NN's contracts are outrageous. Their network management also
costs big bucks even for large networking companies. Face it, NN is
going to get big competition in the ITS and private line arena.

Private line (NN) is out and ITS (ASND I hope :o) is in!

Folks, believe what I say. This is what is going to hurt NN. They are
worried about ITS and/or any voice over IP or ATM. This is going to
be good for Ascend, I hope!
