I agree. I didn't really think it was too bad. True, the writer completely misses several important points. But that's a constant in the coverage of computer/technical companies found in the financial press. These writers don't ever seem to fully understand the technology.

I think one of the biggest clues to the Barron's writer's cluelessness isn't even related to technology. He notes that the Sony/Fuji disks are going to be more expensive than Zip disks. If he understood the market dynamics involved, he'd know that Iomega has been very careful to hit certain price points with its products. Iomega has done the market research to know what the customer wants, and what the customer is willing to pay for it. If they ignore that formula, Sony will miss the boat.
