Thanks Michael. I appreciate you bringing out just a few of the "finer points" of the new tax law. I'll have to read up on this before making any big decisions regarding selling stock. I am looking into the possibility of converting my IRA into a Roth IRA, but again there are a lot of "fine points" to read and digest. If you convert in 1998, then you can spread out paying the taxes on your IRA value over the next 4 years. I am not sure how they would handle an IRA that has mixed deductable and non-deductable portions...maybe they will just prorate the value on the day of conversion. If you can make more than an avg. of 7 - 8% a year on your IRA, then converting to a Roth IRA may make a lot of sense. Sure wish I could have done this last year as IOM has really increased its value during this time. I will see if I can get some info on this on the net later today. Finding a good tax advisor in Panama would be a matter of luck I'm afraid. Am waiting for my new copy of Tax Cut software... that should help quite a bit. Do you have any info on the Roth IRA? Mel

**OT ** Michael, re Message 2839389

Welcome to Arlington. We were probably inches from each other tonight at Fry's looking at the Syquest end-cap. I was so busy talking to my sis-in-law, I didn't see the Sparq. Rats, I was looking specifically for it. Maybe someone hid it? Truff, were you there too?<g> Fry's is my home away from home. I live about 3 miles down Matlock, off Sublett.

I noticed plain Zip 10-packs were going for $99 with no rebates. At last.

Lots of Zip Plus, but only a fraction of the original number Zip refurbs left.
