Maybe the real reason that the trades don't go through even on slow days is that no one is at Datek to work your trades. I've noticed more and more that Datek is popping up as an MM in many securities. If there routing system is sending your trades to their traders to make their margin, when they're away on vacation things will run slower. Take a look at the Nasdaqtrader site and you'll see that Datek's MM activities have increased significantly since they started growing their online service. Things aren't as automatic as they would have us believe. Any wonder why you can mostly buy at the top and sell at the bottom?

It could have been that it was a light trading week, or it could be that there were no connectivity problems.

Datek Online was up all week except for scheduled down time to upgrade some network segments.

Here is some advise: Do not use a bookmarked server. Apparently, a lot of people use orders6, thinking its faster than another server. In practice, its slower, since so many people connect to it.

The best way to connect to datek online is to use the login button. This will connect you to the fastest server.

On a more detailed note, the MCI connection is not any faster than our other connections, despite the posts stating otherwise on this thread. It depends on how and where you connect to the internet.

Datek Online will have a direct connection to all 8 backbones within 3 months, making such questions irrelevent.
