I think the Republican convention generated negative publicity overall. So, not dwelling on it makes sense.

Just watch, he'll get a bump in the polls now that he took the weekend off. I liked the video of him steering the little boat; looked to me he didn't know what he was doing as first he turned the steering wheel one way and then he turned it the other way - back and forth back and forth back and forth he went. Maybe Jon Stewert will pick up on that too?

I was under the impression he was using the time to prep for the debates If you were a Romney handler, and had an idea of the relative knowledge and skills of your guy vs Obama, how would you budget your guys time? Send him out to make uninspired personal appearances, where you have to arrange to bus in a crowd to make it look like someone gives a damn about him ..or put together a team of advisors and try and educate your drone so he isn't thoroughly trounced in nationally televised confrontation with the incumbent ..there are still Palin memories and lessons in the GOP
