Chaz,<OFF TOPIC> A genetic toss of the coin, and I would be an alky. Some alkies go cold turkey and just stop, so part is personal control, and smarts.
We could cut them off at the pass with a coca plant specific evolved mozaic virus, but it might kill our tomatoes too??, or ??
Same for poppies. Eliminate the root and the tree falls.
To be replaced by synthetics ??

A search in Toronto must be not destructive and all damage must be repaired/paid for, even if guilty. Many perps are jailed renters, and never enforce the rights as the landlord dumps all their stuff in the trash.

I am amazed that you say the police can search illegal or legal and not be held liable for damages. Is the law not very similar between the two countries.

The helter skelter searches with stuff tossed around is just what you see for TV. In reality a search carefully goes through a place look at all sides of each piece of paper, drawers, light switches etc, and goes on. A mess actually hinders the search, as it makes it hard to see where you have been.

You are right about drug war failures. Some sort of legal access of metered amounts at low cost would permit the user to work and eliminate the bed needles other costs. How does the dutch model work??
