Against McCain, Obama shored up leads in the key battleground states then went on a late offensive in places like MO and Indiana and the like to stretch the map. We could easily see that same pattern now if Obama gets a convention bounce and holds it before the debates.

Romney's biggest problem if he runs from behind, is that he has to get more shrill and negative to turn out his base. The high road with independents probably won't be available to him.

Just like football - if the defense knows the offense has to throw every down, they start blitzing like mad.

And except for Scott instead of Jeb, why would we expect anything any different about the Florida contest from 2000?
