You might want to check out the intervue with Tom Jermoluk CEO of @home.He claims they will be accelerating the rollout well into the hundred thousands next year. I would guess in total (all providers)about 1 million -1.5 million cable modems will be sold next year ,but everybody and his brother is going to be making cable modems so margins may be low.Coms will benefit more from the network upgrades and sales of their high end products where margins may remain intact.

Beachbumm, I'm very interested in getting a cable connection to replace my phone line and ISP. I called Comcast last week and they put me on hold for 20 minutes unitl I finally hung up.

What does cable access cost in your area? Did you have to buy the modem seperately? Did they have to run additional wire to your house?

Thanks,
Dan
