It is incredible that, lately, the American idea - of individual right, small government, self reliance - is seen as fit only for rednecks and fools -- while the mythologies of collectivism are so "progressive" and popular. Haven't we seen, over the past few hundred years, that the former works, while the latter keeps misfiring with 100% consistency? Robin Hood, fairness and not "leaving anyone behind" are "forward" and exciting. Being responsible for ones actions, reaping what you sow - is a dumb a$$ law of the jungle. Spending what you do not have is humane. Living within means is cruel. Good luck to all of us. We'll need it.
