Yes...did you notice hom the headline blames the GOp but as you read on you see it was a bi-partisan failure....

I read that bill.
  1. It was crafted by seven of the most partisan Democrats in the senate.
  2. Reid allowed no amendments.
  3. It had absolutely no chance of passing the House.
  4. It was obviously moved forward as a campaign ploy by the Dems.

I'd prefer no legislation over legislation lacking consensus, any day of the week. If it happens that one party or the other is obstructing, that's fine with me. Really good legislation will find a consensus.

That might be a good idea in many circumstances. But when we have the current law calling for tax increases, and spending, and deficits, and debt, and entitlement mess, changes have to be made, just doing nothing doesn't work now because doing something is baked in already unless laws change.
