A Byline is an OPINION.....I saw one (and posted it here) the other day from Investors (Business Daily was the old name).....It was on the Front Page, and correctly, it showed the main heading as an OPINION, and their Opinion page had the same name....So yes.....

But what you see today is nearly EVERY article with a Byline, front page and throughout the paper. If not a byline, it is from AP or Reuters, etc which are conglomerate groups of OPINIONS.....it is the opinion of the news as interpreted by the organization which published it.....Check to see what money is donated by the Officers of the various Companies to which political group....(see Open Secrets.org) and see who the top 10 or 20 investors in the company are and what political group they donate money....

You'll find that little exercise most interesting....
