I'm aware of that observation about Mansfield. I'm not posting names with which I agree, but names of folk who are doing serious work. If we walk down the Straussian lines, we can find lots of folk who work in that frame. While I disagree with much of that that body of work, going back, for instance, to Alan Bloom. But it's well worth reading and thinking about.

All of it is clearly an instance of conservative intellectuals.
