9/21/12 Contest Update
Mitt Romney may have given up on the 47% he claims never pay income taxes, but I’ll never give up on the 48.77%. Yeah, I’m talking about the 48.77% of Contest portfolios performing under the Contest median. And you can throw that up on YouTube!
Those who subtracted correctly already know that at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up an astounding 51.23% YTD (vs. up 44.94% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 38.70% YTD (vs. up 35.84% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 22.06% YTD (vs. up 22.22% YTD a week ago).
Another PPHM surge rocketed ROBERT’s portfolio, now up an acrophobia-inducing 131.58% YTD, to a substantial Contest lead. GENE’s portfolio, up 105.17% YTD, jumped into second place and DONS’ portfolio, up 101.80% YTD, held on to third place.
At Friday's close, just 1 of the 38 Contest portfolios was in the red, with 24 of the 38 portfolios beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week.
(Foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in the weekly and YTD Top 5 & Bottom 5 tables, when posted.)
Portfolio adjustments: None
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
