My Technique???

I prefer not to, because it always generates a long debate and I am getting tired of defending it. But to make it simple. I follow 10-20 very active moving stocks for a very long period of time and try to learn how these stocks will react to various news events like earnings reports and turns in the overall market.

I have tried to show my technique to many others and have been told my style is too intuitive to be taught. So I don't bother any longer.

My biggest concern today, is too many people with very little understanding of the market are trying day trading and lossing badly..

Since the market has been going nearly straight up for the last 17 years, it is really hard to determine a portfolio managers ability in handling a flat or bear market.

So all I can say is be careful...

Glenn,

First off, I don't consider myself THE source, but simply a source. You are always free to add your comments to the thread, answer questions when asked and contibute. That is all I am doing. I find it interesting that people get so sensitive about this when I am simply pointing out things about trading, not your or anyone in particular's trading strategy. My feeling is that it strikes home.

Secondly, congratulation on your claimed success in trading. 3 to 5k per week for only 100k is fantastic. Nonetheless, let me point something out to you. Making 5k on 100k per week is not a rarity but definately something exceptional. You are probably one of the exceptional few. This kind of return would surely land you a seven figure salary at someone else's firm or would bring in investors head over heals for your own hedge, investment fund. Lets say you could gather up JUST a million in assets (10 people with 100k each) and you get 50% of the first 10% of the profits plus a xx% management fee. Now, to me, that would be the way to go, to develop something with some meat and potatoes. Last I checked these kinds of numbers are far greater than 4k x 52 weeks or 200,000k.

Donald, I wish you the best of luck. Don't be so sensitive. I am only pointing out items that I think might be in the thread reader's best interests. If its not for you, just pass it by. But honestly speaking, if you are that skilled, I am simply suggesting that these skilled traders CONSIDER other options. Atleast that way you can get a more broad exposure to the mrakets, traders, etc. for a period of time which can then help you with your future endeavors.

Regards,

Again, I live a pretty easy-going, inexpensive lifestyle, but,
