Keith,

I am in the following with you:

CIE Jan $17.5
GDP Dec $10
GRPN Jan $2
IOC Dec $57.5
LCC Jan $5, $7.5, $9
OCZ Oct, Dec, Jan $3 and $4
QCOR Sept $28/$27 spread+ 2 calls preads and 1 more put spread
SKUL Sept $12.5, Oct $12.5, Dec $10
STX Mar $25, Jan '14 $20
Shorts calls on SVU
SWKS Sept $24, Oct $22
WLT Sept $37.5, Jan $30

I added QCOR yesterday and today and SWKS today. SWKS reaction today was because of gidance tightening - midpoint actually higher but overall tighter. Some fears that it might be missing in places from tomorrow teardown of iphone 5. No one knows what is in exactly untip phones are gotten tomorrow. Some risk here - more than I realized when I got in. I used 2 different iron condors in QCOR, will likely lose on today's as calls are ITM.

SWKS below. I am in based on newsletter alert from Minyanville tech guy.

streetinsider.com

My high risk trades into expiration involve SKUL ATM puts with part straddled ATM, JRCC ATM straddles with stock hurting me a bit as it imploded from above strike - I have 6-7 positions here ranging from current month 2.5 and 3 calls and puts to next month 2.5 puts to Dec 2 puts to Jan 14 5 calls, AAPL iron condors, PCLN iron condors, SWkS play from above and QCOR iron condors. I also have risk in ITMN strangles - took losses in longer dated ITMN Jan 7.5 puts when stock got to 8s on way to 7s and now in 9s. Loss wasn't issue but margin got obscene and IRRs stunk since 100% margin at ET. I had $3-4 per contract required so even with $0.8-$0.9 pricing, returns did not match risk.

For the first time in a very long time I find myself not opening too many puts here. Have a bunch that expire today and also am front month weighted in October for hopefully having a lot of stock called away.

In looking things over, IMHO I just don't want to commit capital here because of macro risk.

Earnings season starts in less than 3 weeks and should allow a good look at how things are shaping up overall. With the elections coming in Nov and congress out to lunch, I don't see any quick resolution of budget of so called fiscal cliff issues happening soon.

Trany sector with FDX & NSC warning along with INTC in the tech sector just raised too many red flags here. Will be watching earnings from stocks like GE, banks, and others in the capital goods sector for signs of either weakness or slowing.

Also watching the coal sector very close for a look into the future before adding any positions here.

Just my .02

Goodrich Petroleum ( GDP) says the SEC has completed an investigation related to a fact-finding subpoena served to the company last year requesting information relating to its Haynesville Shale gas wells and reserves, and that no enforcement action was recommended.

Sigh, not the way I hoped to open the new options cycle. Lots of red on the screen.

Did sell some covered calls on OCZ early on for shares that exercised on me - 90 cents for the Jan. 4's. With more exposure, thought better to sell the 4's and not the 5's.

Also sold some KOG 10 covered calls for Nov. - 55 cents.

Fortunately QCOR wasn't a large position, and I was fairly far out of the money before today. Will let things shake out - as they say, shoot first and ask questions later.

Superior Energy Services ( SPN) -3.2% AH after issuing downside guidance for Q3, citing Hurricane Isaac's impact on Gulf of Mexico operations, a more rapid decline in the onshore U.S. rig count than anticipated, and unexpected delays in delivering an Arctic-specific spill containment system to a customer in Alaska

Will be looking at ZNGA puts tomorrow - but have to see where stock opens and premiums are.

Still will keep position fairly modest.
