In this country, parody and comedy and Freedom of Speech are in our blood. These Muslims in the Middle East are madmen and we should make no apology to them. There can be no reconciliation on this issue. The only end outcome that is acceptable is that they repudiate violence in response to perceived insult. It's a macho and medieval attitude that they need to grow out of. This false pride is simply juvenile and ridiculous.

Furthermore, Chinu, I find your position a little odd considering how strongly you came out in favor of extrajudicial assassination of Al Qaeda people. Remember when I talked about how we now have a law in this country that allows assassination and detention of Americans without judicial review and that this law is a slippery slope to Dictatorship in this country, while at the same time expressing no sympathy for Al Qaeda who were assassinated...and in response you all but called me an Al Qaeda sympathizer? And now you are so vigilantly defending the same extreme attitudes of the Muslims that leads to the popularity of Al Qaeda. I find your positions a bit contradictory.

I think what is happening is that all Americans are decent at heart, like yourself. This is a problem in that when you are confronted with behavior that is fundamentally NOT decent, you can't really grasp how to respond. So your first response is one of generosity. It is exactly what Chamberlain's response to Hitler was. But sometimes, you have to just stand up and say, "No, this is wrong. There is no excuse nor apology for these people's actions. They must be repudiated. End of story." Tyranny and bullying by Muslims against us or others must never be tolerated, no matter what excuse they use to justify their madness.

In Pakistan, where more than 20 people died Friday in clashes in cities throughout the country, a Cabinet minister offered a $100,000 reward for the death of the filmmaker.

Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Balor told The Associated Press that he would pay the reward out of his own pocket. He urged the Taliban and al-Qaida to perform the "sacred duty" of helping locate and kill the filmmaker.
