Brad, great job on the MM changes! As more people begin to use it to navigate, I think you are going to find that database hits (and I/O) will be reduced since there will be far fewer Subject lists performed.

Thanks for the great site and your attention towards continued improvement!

David

Re: Jump box

I use IE 3. I happened to be on-line the first time, I think, you put in the jump box. As I recall, it was to the right of "respond" on the bottom line. The "jump" button was there and it worked fine. I vaguely recall the button was still there when you moved it to its present location a little while later. Now there is no jump button. The upshot of all this is, presuming the original code didn't introduce other problems, it seems it is at least possible under IE. Same holds true for the link box; it used to be there in IE 3 for a brief time.

Also, the number of new messages in SubjectMarks for a given thread shows up in blue on IE instead of red. I presume you did this because most thread names would already be off-red and you thought blue would provide a better contrast. In IE, the old bright red color, IMO, provided a better contrast.

P.S. Consider these ideas as simple refinements on a stellar site. (gg)

Brad,
The new links to the last unread message are excellent.

One slight problem I've encountered in the "unread messages" count - if I read a message to me (by going through the "messages to me" screen), then look at the number of unread messages for that subject, I will miss all messages posted to the thread before the message to me. I have my own workaround - not to read any message to me directly, but rather do it in the context of a thread. But this is something you might want to address in the "unread messages" count.
